Miss Universe Karla Guilfú's surprising outfit in honor of Puerto Rico

A little less than a month before the celebration of the 72nd edition of Miss Universe, the Miss Universe Puerto Rico organization has already presented its typical costume, which will be worn by the young Karla Guilfú Acevedo. The suit is a design by Joshuan Aponte and the accessories that complete the entire ensemble are the work of Fabián de las Fuentes.

The design of the dress does not lose detail. The corset is printed with a drawing that emulates the architecture of the Fortress and the skirt is made from velvet and black sequins that simulate the iconic blue cobblestones of Old San Juan.

On the bodice is the crown jewel. A backrest with a design that simulates the most emblematic places of Old San Juan. From the Paseo de la Princesa Fountain to the Santo Cristo chapel. The entire backrest has been made in 3D and decorated with LED lights that illuminate part of the backrest.

Behind the most attractive part of the dress, the back, and followed by the back of the skirt, you can see a large hand-made painting where you can see a panoramic image of the San Felipe del Morro Castle, with the big heads, the bladders, and the dancers. folklore that dance with the crowd.

As if that were not enough, they also wanted the dress to pay tribute to the five Puerto Rican women who were crowned Miss Universe in previous pageants. For this, Marisol Malaret Contreras, Deborha Fátima Carthy Dey, Dayanara Torres Delgado, Denise Marie Quiñones and Zuleyka Jerris Rivera appear in that painting.

Every detail of the costume is meticulously planned, even the accessories that Karla Guilfú Acevedo will wear. Long earrings that simulate the street lamps found on the porches of homes. They match our large bracelets that simulate the structures of residential balconies.

And one of the most representative elements of Puerto Rico that appear throughout the set is in the headdress. The traditional flower of this country. It is a large red flower that is made with rhinestones and that decorates the updo that the young woman will wear at the pageant.
