Millet returns to the residence after recovering the third degree

The judge has lifted the third-degree suspension of the former head of the Palau de la Música Fèlix Millet, allowing him to return to the residence while the appeal filed by the Prosecutor's Office against the semi-liberty granted by the Generalitat Justice Department for humanitarian reasons is resolved.

Last Monday, by order of the prison surveillance judge, Millet, 86 years old, returned to prison, where he is admitted to the Brians 2 prison infirmary in Sant Esteve Sesrovires (Barcelona), temporarily suspending the application of his regime of semi-liberty.

Until then, the principal convicted of the looting of the Palau de la Música enjoyed the third degree in a private residence, chosen by his family, without having to spend the night in prison, since an article of the prison regulations was applied to him that allows inmates serve his sentence in full outside of jail.

According to what prison sources have informed Efe, the judge has decided to lift the temporary suspension of the third degree, allowing Millet to return to the residence while he studies the appeal filed by the public prosecutor against his semi-liberty, so that the Department of Justice works during his transfer in an ambulance.

Millet obtained the open regime last October, but the Prosecutor's Office appealed the concession of the third degree that the Generalitat granted him -two years and four months after entering Brians 1 to serve a sentence for the plunder-, understanding that his problems of health do not justify the granting of semi-liberty.

The Generalitat granted Millet, sentenced to nine years and eight months in prison for the looting of the Palau, the third degree in application of article 104.4, which allows the prison regime to be made more flexible for "humanitarian" reasons for inmates suffering from serious illnesses.
