Micro-SMEs, small businesses and the self-employed can now apply for the Digital Kit voucher

Digital Kit is a Spanish Government aid program managed by Red.es, an entity attached to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation through the Secretary of State for Digitization and Artificial Intelligence. Said program is endowed with a budget of 3,067 million euros and financed by the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan through NextGenerationEU funds, within the framework of the Digital Spain 2025 agenda and the SME Digitization Plan 2021-2025. Its objective is to promote the digital transformation of small businesses, micro-businesses and the self-employed, and it has the participation of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce as a collaborating entity.

Since last October 20, the self-employed and small companies with between zero and less than three employees can request their digital voucher of 2,000 euros through the electronic headquarters of Red.es. This third call for aid has an initial budget of 500 million euros that may be expandable and will be assigned in order of arrival of the requests. The deadline for submitting applications will be open until October 20, 2023.

With a wide catalog of digital solutions, the companies and freelancers to whom this call is intended, can choose between 12 categories: website and basic presence on the Internet; social media management; electronic commerce; Customer Management; virtual office tools and services; business intelligence and analytics; process management; Electronic bill; secure communications; cybersecurity; advanced presence on the internet and marketplace.

Red.es has designed a "zero paper" processing system, which speeds up the process using robotization tools and artificial intelligence so that SMEs can request help, simplifying bureaucratic procedures as much as possible. The applicant can authorize Red.es to consult ex officio the requirements and obligations required to obtain the status of beneficiary, safeguarding transparency and legal certainty.

In addition, to further facilitate access to the digital voucher, the figure of the "volunteer representative" has been enabled so that any third party, whether a natural or legal person, duly authorized, can request the subsidy on behalf of the company.

The first step that the company or self-employed person must take is to register at www.acelerapyme.es. Next, you must complete a self-diagnosis test to find out the degree of digital maturity of the company. After doing so, they can request their digital voucher at the electronic headquarters of Red.es.

Once it is verified that the applicant meets the requirements, the digital voucher is granted. The beneficiary can consult at www.acelerapyme.es both the catalog of digitization solutions offered by the Kit Digital program, as well as the list made up of nearly 9,600 digitization agents. One or several digitization agents must be selected with whom to develop the solutions that best suit the needs of each business, and sign the "digitization solution provision agreements".

At this time, around 400 million euros from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan have already reached Spanish SMEs, through the Digital Kit programme. The first call, for companies with between 10 and less than 50 employees, will be open until March 15, 2023. The amount for this segment is 12,000 euros.

The second call, with aid of 6,000 euros for companies with between 3 and less than 10 employees, will be active until September 2, 2023. Less than a month after its opening, the first 3,000 bonuses had already been granted to companies of that segment.

100% of the companies applying for segment I and II that met the requirements are already receiving their digital voucher. The resolution period for the files is between three and four weeks.

In seven months, Red.es has launched three calls for the Digital Kit program that from now on coexist in parallel, and which means that all companies with less than 50 employees and freelancers who meet the requirements can apply for aid. Help, which has already been requested by more than 170,000 SMEs.
