The fruit and vegetable companies of Mercabarna have managed to practically double food exports in eight years, as stated this Friday by the wholesale market in a statement.
In 2013, a tool to promote exports called Mercabarna-Export was launched. A year later, in 2014, the fruit and vegetable sector marketed 1.7 tons of food, with an export of 25%. Last year 2.2 tons were sold, with an export of 35%. It's almost double.
25 Mercabarna export companies will participate in the Fruit Attraction fair, which will be held in Madrid from October 4 to 6 and is the second most important exhibition in the world in the fruit and vegetable sector.
