Mbappé's astronomical salary at PSG leaked

Everyone takes it for granted that Kylian Mbappé's change of heart at the last minute last summer, when he had everything done with Real Madrid, was motivated by the blank check that PSG put on the table for him. The dizzying figures convinced the young French striker to continue one more season in Paris. Now more details of that renewal are known.

The newspaper Le Parisien has published the figures of the contract reached by the player and the club, the largest in history. According to this information from a well-connected media outlet with PSG, Mbappé would be earning six million euros gross per month. The French newspaper points out that the agreement by which Mbappé extended with his club this year is the "largest contract ever signed by a sports car in the entire world", for a period of two years with the option of a third.

According to this information, the contract sets a salary of 72 million euros gross per year, six million gross per month (2.7 million after payment of the relevant taxes). To this are added various bonuses: one for the signing, of 180 million divided into three payments, and another for loyalty that would touch each end of the market if he does not leave PSG.

"The first payment, which he must have already received, is 70 million euros gross," the newspaper specifies in its exclusive and ensures that the next one, for September 2023, will be around 80 million euros while the next , in 2024, it would be 90 million.

In total, Mbappé would thus play at the end of his three-year contract more than 630 million euros gross, which in net would be around 282 million euros. Just by staying for a year he would have earned 325 million euros.

This makes it the largest contract in football history, ahead of the one Lionel Messi signed with Barça in 2017 (555 million euros) or Neymar's with PSG the same year (267 million).

This information comes to light in the midst of a new controversy with the striker, after the publication in the press of rumors about the discontent of Mbappé, 23, for whom the promises of projects made by the club are not being fulfilled. Rumors to which the striker's speech was added in his day, which assured that his decision was not going to be based on financial reasons.
