Mbappé maintains his boycott of promoting alcohol despite the sanctions

The player of the French team Kylian Mbappé is the protagonist in this World Cup in Qatar not only for his interventions and goals -he is already the top scorer in the competition-, but for having joined with his actions the boycott of alcoholic beverages and, specifically , to beer.

The last example took place this same Sunday, just after the match between France and Poland, when the French star hid the logo of Budweiser, the American beer brand. It's not the first time. The striker has received three man of the match awards in the four matches played so far, and each time he has made the same gesture: turning the trophy over, thus covering the brand that precisely sponsors this award.

The young forward also refused to go out to the press conference after the matches between Australia and Denmark. In this case, the regulations say that it is mandatory for the MVP of the match to attend the press conference, for which the French Football Federation was fined.

After the exhibition against Poland, Mbappé did hold the post-match press conference where he declared that he did not know that he was going to be fined for not attending the press conferences, but that he promised to pay for them himself.

The Frenchman has clear ideas: he does not participate in advertising events for alcoholic beverages, bookmakers or fast food companies. He has already refused on different occasions to participate in publicity events for the French Football Federation with a fast food company. And also with some sponsorship from PSG.

This is not the only boycott that the beer company has encountered in this World Cup. It so happens that Budweiser is one of the main sponsors in Qatar 2022 and that is why it prepared millions of cans to send to the Arab country. But being a country where alcohol consumption is restricted, FIFA backed down at the last moment and prohibited the sale of alcohol in and around stadiums.

Resigned, the brand confirmed that this batch of beers, which were already prepared to travel to Qatar, will finally be delivered to the country that wins the tournament.
