Mazón believes that Spanish is the most appropriate language in the Congress of Deputies

Carlos Mazón has defended in an interview on Cadena Cope that Spanish is the "most appropriate" language in the Congress of Deputies, since it "seems complicated" to propose the incorporation of translators to allow the use of all co-official languages .

Of course, it has demanded that the new president of the Lower House, Francina Armengol, the acting president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and the 'ex-presidents' of the Generalitat, cite Valencian when they speak of co-official languages.

This is how he has valued the use of the co-official languages in the Congress to which Armengol committed himself, after which the 'ex-president' and leader of the PSPV, Ximo Puig, proposed establishing the name 'Catalan-Valencian'.

"The most important thing is that people understand each other in Congress. Therefore, Castilian, Spanish, seems to me the most appropriate. This of considering translators seems complicated to me," Mazón explained, who has affirmed that he did not " fits in the head" Puig's proposal.

In any case, he has emphasized that Valencian must be mentioned when talking about promoting the co-official languages in European institutions or every time he alludes to them "no less than a president of Congress, a president of the Government or 'ex-presidents' of the Generalitat".

"If the Valencian is not cited, the Constitution and the Statute of Autonomy are being breached and they are playing along with those of the process," he warned.

And he has emphasized: "If the president of the Generalitat does not respect the Statute, who is going to do it? I respect the Statute, and the Statute says that our name is the Valencian Community and our co-official language is Valencian (...) This is not debatable, it's just not like that."
