Mazón assesses that "separatist blackmail" can lead to "oblivion" to the Valencian Community

Yesterday Carlos Mazón expressed his concern about the possibility that "separatist blackmail" could cause the Valencian Community to forget its historical demands for this autonomy. The president of the Generalitat Valenciana also warned that "we will not tolerate being a toll or bargaining chip for anything or anyone" in the configuration of a possible executive chaired by Pedro Sánchez. He said this after meeting with the presidents of the provincial councils and with the mayors of Valencia, Alicante and Castellón.

In this context, he assessed that "no one can deny" the new "separatist wave" that Spain is experiencing, which at this moment needs a "stable, secure government that respects the Constitution, that respects the law and, above all, a government that respects the Comunitat Valenciana" and "end oblivion" towards this land.

Mazón stressed that there are infrastructures, investments and strategic challenges for the Community that are "beginning to be forgotten" due to a "lack of attention for too many years", and therefore he will not "tolerate" that "the intention that "Let us Valencians pay the toll for the blackmail of minorities."

He insisted that the Community has "urgent needs that cannot wait another minute", such as water, financing or investments, in which one more minute of delay is already "intolerable", and "unfortunately" this Earth knows "too much" about being "a bargaining chip for the impositions of separatist minorities."

The president showed all his support and that of his party colleagues, "it would be more necessary", for the event called on the 24th in Madrid, and although he personally will not be able to be there that day, the Generalitat will be there "and all" the PP of the Valencian Community to "defend our constitutional values with total force, without any doubt."

Asked if he will attend the big event called by the PP on September 24 in Madrid against the possible amnesty for the convicted leaders of the "procés", he explained that he will not be able to because that day he is going to Bologna to accompany the ceramics businessmen to his fair, with which he had committed himself, but the event has his full support and the Generalitat "and the entire PPCV" will be present.

Asked if he is going to speak with other regional presidents about this issue, he indicated yes and that starting on October 9 - the day of the Valencian Community - he will try to activate the agenda to have "a good relationship" with the neighboring communities. with which the dialogue is "constant and permanent".

Mazón claimed that, as one of the fathers of the Constitution, Torcuato Fernández-Miranda, said, to reach a good law it must be done through the law and without subverting the rule of law. "The same thing happens to our Constitution, our law, even our Penal Code as to the Valencian Community: that we are not willing to let them be a bargaining chip for the impositions of separatist minorities," said Mazón, for whom "this is defending democracy" and the opposite is "attacking it.

For her part, the mayor of Valencia, María José Catalá, defended the need to form "a common front against a bad Government in Spain that could relegate the interests of Valencians," and assured that in the case of her city she will not stop fight for the northern expansion of the port and for communications infrastructure.

"We are not going to tolerate under any circumstances that the Government of Spain paralyzes, for the interests of the minority parties, our infrastructure and slows down the prosperity of the Community, and especially of Valencia, for the interests of a few from another Community," he warned. Catala.

The mayor of Alicante, Luis Barcala, indicated that we must "close ranks" to avoid becoming a "doll that is used and thrown away" and claim the "protagonism" of this land in Spain, and the councilor of Castelló, Begoña Carrasco , appreciated that in his city they have already rehearsed what is "a Government surrendered to nationalist minorities", which has only left "problems"
