Marta del Castillo's father points out an "error" in the date of an aerial image related to the search for his daughter's body

Antonio del Castillo, father of Marta del Castillo, the young woman for whose murder in 2009 Miguel Carcaño was sentenced to 21 years and three months in prison, has published a tweet on Monday in which he states that an aerial image that would reflect the well around to which his request to undertake a new search for his daughter's body revolves, in the surroundings of the Majaloba lands, an area previously searched by the National Police and by relatives and relatives of the victim, it was taken in 2016, but it appears "by mistake" as an image of "2008-2009" at the Institute of Statistics and Cartography of Andalusia.

"Once speaking with CNP. They explain: the photograph taken and located in 2008 and 2009 is taken in 2016 and located there by mistake, according to the explanation of the cartographic institute of the Board," Antonio del Castillo has published on the social network Twitter.

In statements to Europa Press Television, Antonio del Castillo explained days ago that the approach to this new search for his daughter's body derives from a description expressed by Miguel Carcaño, who has transferred up to seven different versions of the facts, exposing that the same " spoke of a road flanked by two trees" when referring to the place where the victim's body would have been hidden, which over the years has been searched for in various locations such as the Guadalquivir river or Camas, thanks to evolution of the case.

"Searching for and comparing maps from 2022 and 2009", according to Antonio del Castillo, the victim's family was able to locate "that path" mentioned by Carcaño, checking 'in situ', as he assures, that in said enclave "all the indications coincide" manifested by Carcaño in that version. Thus, he alluded to a "gas station, palm trees and lights", with a "higher" degree of coincidence than in previous searches in the area.

He himself, as he narrated, undertook excavations "with a shovel, without attracting attention", extracting "stones, clothing and pieces of plaster", until it became clear that "an excavating machine had to be inserted" to obtain results, with which months ago , in September, the family would have transferred their "suspicions" about this location to the National Police, obtaining the promise that the agents "would search" in the aforementioned enclave.

But after that promise last September, as he explained, the months have passed and he recently visited the area again, verifying that "it continues to get worse, because they use it as a garbage dump", an extreme that filled him with "indignation", until he expressed his complaints on social media.

The National Police, on their side, recently specified that this place "is located on private property and it is agricultural land on which there was a plantation."

Now that the crop "has already been collected", according to the National Police, the agents hope "to obtain authorization from its owner to carry out the search, in the event that the efforts being carried out result in objective elements that allow establishing the possibility". that the tracing efforts yield a "positive" result.

"As soon as these efforts are completed, the Judicial Authority will be informed of the results thereof, to begin the search if necessary," the National Police said.

Given this, Antonio del Castillo stated that he is aware that the investigators have "talked" with the owner of the land, considering that it is enough to have his "word" to access the land.

"I am not going to give a location point where I do not have hope," defended Antonio del Castillo, assuring that his proposals regarding searches "always" are supported by "logic."
