Maragall bets on Alamany and Capella to try to turn around the bad polls

"Today I feel stronger, we have the best team to govern Barcelona", affirmed the Esquerra Republicana candidate for mayor of Barcelona, Ernest Maragall, in the presentation of the two women who will accompany him as numbers two and three on his list : Elisenda Alamany and Ester Capella.

Maragall, Alamany and Capella form what the mayor has dubbed "the triple E": Ernest, Elisenda and Ester; which mean "success, push and hope," according to the Republican leader.

"We send a message and a powerful feminist transformation," said Maragall, who has praised his number two. "He has earned it hard," said the candidate for his number two, who repeats the position he already held in the 2019 elections. On that occasion, ERC was the party that got the most votes, but the pact of Manuel Valls with the commons and the socialists allowed Ada Colau to continue four more years in the position of mayoress and sent Esquerra to the opposition.

Regarding number 3, the current delegate of the Generalitat in Madrid and former councilor in the Barcelona City Council, Ester Capella, Maragall has highlighted her "experience and accredited service record in the country and in the city", as well as her "ability to management and execution of policies as transcendent as that of the administration of justice in the country”, recalling his time at the Department of Justice.

"We are going for everything, to win, because Barcelona needs it and deserves it," Maragall has declared, convinced that there is still time to reverse some bad electoral expectations. All the polls relegate him to fourth position behind Xavier Trias, Jaume Collboni and Ada Colau.
