In Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia we witness a miracle of nature in Manlleu, in the Osona region: the birth of two twin lambs, which we can see in these images shortly after coming into the world.
During weaning, lambs are gradually fed roughage or ground raw grain. They are raised on hay and feed containing corn, barley, milo (a kind of sorghum) and/or wheat supplemented with vitamins and minerals.
It is known as suckling lamb or lamb that has not yet been weaned, from 20 days to 30 days of age and with a weight of 5 kg to 6.5 kg.
The lamb, due to the generic color of its wool, its youth and docility, has been represented since ancient times as an almost universal symbol of sweetness, innocence, meekness and purity, as conveyed by these endearing images of the mother with her twins.
In Christian iconography, the lamb bears the image of the Man whose prophet is a shepherd, but it can equally refer to Jesus, the Lamb of God (Latin Agnus Dei), whose sacrifice takes away the sin of the world.
