Madrid is finalizing the preparation of its ice rinks for this Christmas. Some, like the one in Plaza de España, are already operational; but others promoted by the City Council can be enjoyed this month of December and the first days of January.
The Matadero Madrid Track will open its doors on December 6th until January 7th. It is one of the largest in Spain, having an area of 600 square meters. It will offer figure skating exhibitions organized by the Madrid Winter Sports Federation on December 22, 27 and 29 at 4:30 p.m. The entrance price is 6.5 euros for each 30-minute pass and includes the rental of skates and helmet. The price of renting gloves is 1.6 euros and walkers, as a support element for children, will cost 2 euros. The schedule until December 22 is in the afternoons from 4 to 9 p.m. And during the December holidays and Christmas from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. In addition, it must be taken into account that on January 24, 25, 31 and 1 it will be closed.
In addition to skating and enjoying the snow that will fall from December 22 to January 3 at 6 p.m. in this facility you will see a very varied program with pictorial actions, performing arts, games, unique shows, roller disco, food trucks and a varied musical proposal.
Another alternative that the Madrid council is going to offer is the skating rink of the Palacio de Cibeles, Amazon
The hours will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Christmas dates, although on some designated days it will close earlier. From December 18 to 22 it will only open in the afternoons from 4 to 9 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased at the box office located inside the venue and at www.navidadmadrid.com. In addition, there will be different activities at the venue whose entry will be free until capacity is reached.
In addition, of these two runways, which are the largest, another has been installed in the Plaza de Colón and by district there will be smaller ones in Carabanchel, Puente de Vallecas or Fuencarral El Pardo, among others.
In addition, skating will also be possible in the parks dedicated to Christmas. For example, the Mágicas Navidades park in Torrejón de Ardoz has installed this year as a novelty the only ice rink on a lake that can be enjoyed in Spain. And Navidalia in Getafe has slopes for sledding.
