Luz Casal, Sílvia Pérez Cruz and 31 FAM will present their new works at the Strenes

The Strenes Festival, which has been held in Girona for more than 10 years, is the benchmark evening for Catalan artists to present their new projects to record companies and have the opportunity to launch their own tour.

The 11th edition, whose tickets went on sale this Tuesday, promises to be one of the most ambitious yet. Today the first 20 artists and groups have been announced, among which Luz Casal, Sílvia Pérez Cruz, Joan Dausà, Els Amics de les Arts, Blaumut, Buhos, Beth, 31 FAM, Triquell or Lal'Ba stand out.

Next year's 2023 season will take place in its city of origin, in Girona, from March 31 to May 6 and will also have a later extension in Barcelona during the month of May.

The festival will once again turn the city of Girona into a great stage that will come to life in the Auditorium, the Municipal Theater, the La Mercè Cultural Center or La Mirona de Salt and will also occupy some of the most emblematic corners such as the stairs of the Cathedral .

In advance of the programming, the presentation at the Girona Auditorium of the new album (already the 16th) by the singer Luz Casal is confirmed, and at the Teatre Municipal the songs from the new album, scheduled for March, by the singer-songwriter Silvia Pérez Cruz, winner of the National Prize for Current Music granted by the Ministry of Culture.

Another long-awaited "strena" for fans will be the concert of the new work by Els Amics de les Arts, which will fill the stairs of the Cathedral on two occasions. As the group has detailed, they will be songs about life, second chances, broken hearts and reconciliations.

In the same way, the group from Penedès Buhos will also celebrate life with their sixth album, which will be released in the coming spring months. Its title is not yet known, but they have already advanced the song La lluvia tropical.

The popular contestant on the television program Eufòria on TV3 Triquell will make his recording debut with an album from which the songs Road Trip and Jugular have already been heard, produced by Manel's drummer, Arnau Vallvé.

The Sabadell group 31 FAM, one of the leaders of the Catalan urban genre, will perform live the songs from their third album, of which the songs Wan Tun, reggaeton and X2 Real, which combines trap with electronics, have already advanced.

The new edition of Strenes will also be loaded with a feminine touch by the trio Lal'Ba under the title Abella reina, a song that talks about the empowerment of women and gender inequalities.

The festival will also host the premiere of Joan Dausà's Jo Mai Mai tour. 10 years on the street, on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of his professional career. In the same way, Blaumut is also celebrating ten years of musical career and will do so on the stage of the Palau de la Música in the Strenes in Barcelona.

Lastly, the singer Beth will present the tour to celebrate her twenty-year musical career at the Teatre Municipal, where she will review the most significant songs and other important moments in her theatrical and personal career.

Judit Neddermann, Viva Suecia, the duo Andrea Motis and Marco Mezquida, Tanxugueiras, The Tyets and Anna Roig are other confirmed artists for the edition to be held in May 2023.

In addition, next year the new Strenes Urbana project is also expected, which will take place on May 13 at the Antigua Fábrica Estrella Damm in Barcelona. At the moment the confirmed artists are Scorpio and Flashy Ice Cream, out of a total of ten artists.
