One month after the start of the Qatar World Cup, the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) announced this Thursday that Luis Enrique will announce his squad for the World Cup on November 11. As usual, the event will take place in the Luis Aragonés Hall of the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas (Madrid), starting at 12:30 p.m.
The Spanish coach can call up to a maximum of 26 footballers who will be summoned from Monday, November 14, in Las Rozas. Spain is scheduled to play a friendly against Jordan three days later in the city of Amman to prepare for its World Cup debut, set for November 23 against Costa Rica (5pm) at the Al Thumama Stadium in Qatar.
Spain placed in group E, has been matched in addition to Costa Rica, with Germany, who will be measured on November 27 (8:00 p.m.) at the Al Khor Stadium; and with Japan, with whom he will face on December 1 at the Khalifa International Stadium.
A total of 32 teams participate in the World Cup that Qatar will host on this unusual winter date. It will start on November 20 and will run until December 18. France, current champion, will defend the throne in a tournament in which attractive duels will be seen from the group stage, such as Spain-Germany on November 27.
Other interesting matches in this first phase will be England - United States (November 25), Argentina - Mexico (November 26), France - Denmark (November 26), Croatia - Belgium (December 1), the Brazil - Serbia (November 24) and Portugal - Uruguay (November 28).
The 16 surviving teams from the initial phase, two from each group, will play the round of 16 starting on December 3. The quarterfinals will be played on December 9 and 10, while the semifinals will be on December 13 and 14. The grand final will be played on Sunday, December 18 at the Lusail Stadium (4:00 p.m.).
