Luis Enrique remembers his daughter Xana the day she would have turned 13

The Spanish coach, Luis Enrique Martínez, remembered his daughter Xana the day she would have turned 13, hours before playing the second match of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, against Germany, he sent a message on "a very special day".

"Today we are not only playing against Germany, today is also a very special day because Xanita would be 13 years old. Love, wherever you are, lots of kisses. Have a great day. We love you," he said in a video that he recorded while he was on a route in bike in the morning.

Luis Enrique interrupted his work as a Spanish coach in 2019 when he learned of the seriousness of the illness suffered by his youngest daughter, Xana, who died at the age of 9. Since then, and having rejoined the national team, he has never stopped remembering his daughter. Rest in peace Xana.
