Luis Enrique boasts of the results of Spain

The doubts of the environment, often unfavorable criticism, have always accompanied the Spanish soccer team since Luis Enrique took the reins of the team. Despite the constant debate about the Asturian's methods and his decisions, the numbers support the coach, who has now wanted to highlight the performance of his pupils.

"Just to put things in context..." the man from Gijón has written on his Twitter account along with a comparative table with the results of the great European teams, including Spain, in the last continental tournaments (two editions of the Nations League and the last European Championship) and the qualifying phase for the World Cup in Qatar.

Although without saying it literally, Luis Enrique has wanted to take advantage of the results obtained by 'the red one', the only national team that since 2021 has added some semifinals of the European Championship and two appearances in the final four of the Nations League, in addition to qualify as first in the group for the World Cup.

Based on these parameters, only the Italian team, which has performed until the end in European competitions but has not qualified for the World Cup, comes close to Spain. However, the azzurra celebrated the European Championship title in the summer of 2021, while 'the red one' has not lifted any trophy since the arrival of Luis Enrique.

"Doubts in football are always based on the results. I accept it and it doesn't interest me. I focus on the sensations of the players", explained the Asturian coach after the victory against Portugal (0-1) in Braga on the pressure which, in his opinion, the Spanish coach has always had.

The publication of the Spanish coach comes shortly after Spain qualified for the final four of the UEFA Nations League that will be played next June, initially in the Netherlands. Before that, the World Cup will be held in November, a tournament where the Spanish team is part of the group of candidates to win the title.
