The institutional celebration of the Diada in Lleida will be held again on the same day, September 11, after in recent years it had been brought forward to the day before due to scheduling issues but also to facilitate the attendance of citizens at the pro-independence mobilizations in Barcelona .
The mayor of Lleida, Fèlix Larrosa, has expressed his satisfaction for recovering this tradition with "a vocation to do things well done".
This year, the joint organization between Paeria, Diputación de Lleida and the Government is maintained, which will be represented by the Minister of Territory, Ester Capella.
The event will take place in the Seu Vella at half past twelve and the offerings of parties and entities can be made, as usual, both at this point and in the Roser building.
Larrosa has explained that from the Paeria they want a Diada in which Lleida "assumes a role of claim and capital", as the second capital of Catalonia.
In this sense, the mayor recalled that on Friday he will meet with the president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, and that he plans to convey this objective to him so that Lleida is recognized in the rest of the territory.
The Councilor for Culture, Pilar Bosch, has detailed that the institutional event will begin with the parliaments of the three institutions and that there will also be a performance by the Shalom Choir. Next, the group Silvestris, with traditional polyphony led by Heura Gaya, will offer songs that will go from Garrotín to rap.
