Legendary guitarist Wilko Johnson dies at 75

Guitarist Wilko Johnson, best known for leading the group Dr. Feelgood, passed away last Monday at the age of 75.

The news was just made public this Wednesday through a message on their networks: «This is the announcement we never wanted to make, and we do it with a heavy heart: Wilko Johnson has died. He passed away at his home on Monday, November 21. Thank you for respecting the family's privacy at this sad time. RIP Wilko Johnson."

The artist announced, in 2013, that he suffered from pancreatic cancer although he underwent surgery for it in 2014, despite everything he continued with his musical activity.

Left-handed, although playing the guitar in a right-handed position, Wilko became famous for his particular style when playing the guitar, without a pick, but still offering all the power and aggressiveness that could be expected from his sound, being able to Also, play the role of rhythm guitarist and soloist at the same time.

Wilko would be part of Dr. Feelgood between 1971 and 1977, being part of Down by the Jetty (1975), Malpractice (1975) and Sneakin' Suspicion (1977).

Later, the artist would form Solid Sender and The Wilko Johnson Band, also playing with artists such as Ian Dury And The Blockheads, Johnny Thunders or Roger Daltrey throughout more than six glorious decades of career.
