League and unions reach an agreement to end the strike in women's football

The negotiations between the unions and the F League yesterday once again experienced an eternal day of consultations and meetings to unblock the strike and set a new minimum wage to replace the 16,000 gross annual euros established in the previous 2020 agreement.

Already at dawn and after more than nine hours of meeting, the two parties approved an agreement for the next three seasons and it establishes a minimum salary of 21,000 euros for this season; 22,500 for 2024-25 and 23,500 for 2025-26. These figures may increase to 23,000, 25,000 and 28,000 each season, respectively, and depending on the “growth in commercial income from the competition” among other income.

The proposal was seen favorably by the clubs. Yesterday, the unions put on the table an increase of 500 euros over the last offer. The employers transferred it to the clubs and the unions also spoke with the captains in a new marathon day to try to avoid the second day of strike.

“We have always defended the need to reach a long-term agreement that would provide stability to the women's professional football project,” the F League and the clubs stated last night.

The strike only affected the first day and after the agreement reached, the championship will begin this weekend with the second.
