The management of Junts per Catalunya, as planned, opened an information file on Monday with one of its vice presidents, Francesc de Dalmases, to try to clarify what happened on July 9 on the TV3 FAQS program after the interview to the president of the Parlament and of her party, Laura Borràs, during a fight with a journalist. That episode was described by some witnesses as "coercive" and "intimidating", and as a "fiery discussion" by Dalmases himself, who once the facts were made public, ended up apologizing in a message on the networks and from the lectern of the Catalan hemicycle.
The lawyer Magda Oranich, who was the most voted for the guarantee commission of the formation in the JxCat congress, will be in charge of instructing the case internally and decide whether to send the matter to the guarantee commission, from which she is part of it. "She is a person with proven solvency and professional experience, also in the defense of women," argued the spokesperson and also vice president of Junts, Josep Rius.
"We have done what is expected in these cases. It is necessary for the instructor to do all this work, resolve and clear up doubts and clarify the facts", Rius later pointed out, who has assured that the training will do everything that is in its hand to clarify the episode, which has provoked complaints from the other groups in Parliament and a request for a formal investigation in the institution in case the code of conduct was violated.
Borràs, who was present in the room where the discussion took place, has defended these days that it is a "lynching" of one of his closest collaborators. However, Rius has avoided saying whether the formation shares the vision of Dalmases and Borràs that we are facing a "lynching". "In these cases, you have to be as careful as possible, because of the repercussions it can have. This instructor will decide what the party's position is," the spokesman has settled.
