Foment del Treball and the Institut Agrícola have shown their support for the agri-food hub of the Baix Llobregat (Barcelona) "to repower" the region, according to the employer in a statement.
The agri-food pole proposal was presented by the municipalities of Gavà, Viladecans and Sant Boi de Llobregat, with the support of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC).
Both entities have assured that this proposal is "a paradigm shift in the Baix Llobregat economy", since it would create a framework to attract investment, companies and innovations through public-private collaboration.
They have pointed out that the hub would provide legal certainty to the investments that must be made, as well as innovation "to improve the competitiveness of the local agri-food industry", and would facilitate the creation of quality jobs.
As they have stated, the project "is a plan for the future that analyzes current problems to turn them into opportunities".
