Labor Inspection fines Amazon with 3.2 million for illegal transfer of workers

The Labor Inspection of Catalonia has proposed a fine of 5.8 million euros to Amazon and 17 other subcontracted companies for "illegal assignment of workers", according to a statement from the Generalitat this Thursday.

Labor Inspection points out that the 17 companies -six of temporary work- would have transferred 559 workers in working conditions inferior to those corresponding if they were hired directly by Amazon. For this reason, it has proposed a penalty of 3.2 million euros to Amazon and 2.6 million euros to the 17 companies involved.

The investigation began in February in Barcelona and has concluded that a minimum of 559 workers were doing delivery work in "situation and conditions of precarious employment" in salary and instability in the occupation, in addition to not having legal representation.

The subcontracted companies are Tipsa Delivery, Ara Vinc, Internet Commerce Solutions, Transportcat Logistics, Delivery Asap, Travieso Logistics, Jom Servicios Integrales, Anem Advanced Logistics, Gal Kajol and Duende Logistics; while the ETTs are JT Hiring ETT, Gi Group Spain ETT, Temporal Quality ETT, Iman Temporing ETT, Randstad Empleo and Rhone Alpes Servicios España ETT.
