King Juan Carlos fulfills his wish to train in the Sanxenxo estuary

At 11:30 this Thursday, King Juan Carlos has arrived at the facilities of the Sanxenxo yacht club with the intention of spending the morning aboard the 'Bribón' and training to prepare for the 6M World Championship that will be held this summer on the Isle of Wight (England).

Fulfilling his commitment to discretion, the King's father has arrived at the marina sitting in the passenger seat of a Volvo SUV driven by his friend and host, Pedro Campos, at whose house he is staying these days.

King Juan Carlos arrived at that house, overlooking the Pontevedra estuary, on Nanín beach, in the municipality of Sanxenxo, yesterday at noon and he did not leave until this morning. There he ate, rested, dined and slept.

As the trip has stated, King Juan Carlos does not hide but he does not show himself either. That is his decision to ensure future trips and, above all, gradually reduce the media attention until his occasional presence in Spain ceases to create controversy.

For today it is planned to spend a few hours in the waters of the Pontevedra estuary to measure their strength inside the sailboat and recover the physical shape required by the nautical competition. Although the 'Bribón' is adapted to its physical characteristics, the fact of not regularly practicing the sport for a long time makes its role as skipper of the sailboat difficult.

In principle, it is expected that King Juan Carlos will continue training tomorrow, Friday, and on Saturday and Sunday he will participate in the Spanish Championship for the international competition this summer. King Juan Carlos with the 'Bribón' was proclaimed world champion in 2017 in the tests that took place in Vancouver (Canada), a title that he revalidated in 2019 in Helsinki (Finland) and that this year he wants to win again on the English island where, by the way, her grandmother Queen Victoria Eugenia spent her childhood.
