Kessié breaks down and will be out for a month

Frank Kessié's injury was the worst news for Barcelona of their victory at Viktoria Pilsen. The Blaugrana, already eliminated from the Champions League and doomed to the Europa League, brought back from the Czech Republic the 2.8 million they pocketed for winning (2-4) and the limping and very sore midfielder.

In the 67th minute, Kessié had to limp off the field after noticing a muscle puncture that forced him to stretch out on the grass waiting for assistance. Marc Casadó entered for him. But within Barcelona they already sensed that the player had broken and that the injury could be serious. As La Vanguardia has learned, the former Milan player will need a month to recover from the muscle tear.

The tests carried out this Wednesday afternoon have determined that the Ivorian player has an injury to the femoral biceps of his left leg.

The club does not specify time off but, taking into account that the Blaugrana team only has two games left before the competitions stop for the World Cup to be played in Qatar, it is clear that Kessié will not reappear until the end of December, when The League resumes, or at the beginning of January, when Barça begins its journey in the Copa del Rey and the Super Cup.

Kessié was no longer going to play in the World Cup because the Ivory Coast is not qualified for the big event. The former Milan player has participated in 13 games at this start of the season, with one goal, and Pilsen's was his fifth start.

The Ivorian joins Araújo, Christensen, Memphis and Sergio Roberto in the infirmary, players that Xavi hasn't been able to count on for a few weeks. On the other hand, everything indicates that the coach will have Lewandowski, Koundé and Eric Garcia at his disposal against Almería, who did not travel to Pilsen.
