Junts sets conditions to return to dialogue and demands a negotiation process

Junts per Catalunya has set three conditions this Monday to return to negotiations with the central government, as requested by Pedro Sánchez this Monday in an interview with La Vanguardia, and warns that it is a sine qua non condition that there be a real negotiation process with guarantees of compliance and monitoring of what has been agreed.

Josep Rius, spokesman and vice president of the formation, has demanded that the dialogue table be set aside, which he has described as a mere "photo" and a "silence and silencing table", and instead go to real negotiations. The requirements, in addition to the mentioned guarantees, would be that an amnesty law be approved before the end of the legislature in the Congress of Deputies and that "the exercise of the right of self-determination with an agreed and agreed referendum to put an end to the conflict".

In addition, the formation considers Sánchez's invitation as a "rectification" of the veto that Pere Aragonès is attributed to the JxCat delegation, which included executive leaders who were not in the Government. Although Jordi Sànchez, former general secretary, is no longer in the leadership, at Junts they have not changed their composition for that forum for now. In Rius's opinion, the statements by the Prime Minister "confirm the failure of that dialogue table between the Esquerra Republicana and the PSOE." "It has not met and it was a mistake to veto the presence of Junts, without Junts there is no solution," added the spokesperson, who warns that they will not do "anything to whitewash" a forum that "has failed and is dead." "If we leave the table and enter into a negotiation process, we will be," he countered.

Junts considers it "essential" that there be "a system of guarantees" because, according to Rius, "the PSOE cannot be trusted, it is a government that does not make investments in the budgets, spies and does not assume the responsibilities that correspond to it." "The Parliament has already provided these guarantees so that it is a real and effective negotiation process and not just a photo. It is a table that does not meet, a table of silence and a table of silence because it shows that the conflict is resolved and does not exist ", added later the leader of JxCat, who has not clarified if they were referring to the figure of the mediator who was present in the previous legislature as a condition for that forum to meet.

On this issue, from ERC, the spokesperson for the formation and assistant general secretary, Marta Vilalta, has asked her partner in the Government, Junts, at a press conference to "get up from the sofa" and join "the consensus of the negotiation". In addition, Vilalta has demanded that she stop criticizing that space, since that "weakens it" and she is not "loyal" to the legislature agreement.

In the interview with this medium, Sánchez is committed to gathering that space as soon as possible, although no date is specified.

On the other hand, JxCat has once again censured the Minister of the Presidency, the Republican Laura Vilagrà, for last week's meeting with Minister Félix Bolaños in Madrid, which they have called "unilateral". "When the meetings are of the Government, in a coalition Government, the positions are set between the two partners. This is an element that did not occur with the minister Vilagrà and the minister Bolaños," Rius summarized. "For Junts, relations remain frozen. As long as there is no explanation and an investigative commission in Congress, relations, beyond those that are not technical, are frozen," he settled.

The management of Junts, at today's meeting of the executive, has also opted to strengthen coordination between the partners of the Government with the mechanisms already provided for in the pact. The party of Jordi Turull and Laura Borràs wants there to be a weekly periodicity of the bodies that manage the day to day, the one known as 3x3 and that every two weeks or once a month the 4x4 is also cited, where the top leaders of the two parties and the Government. The objective is for there to be a greater degree of compliance with last year's legislature agreement and for the space for coordination and pro-independence strategy that was contemplated to be launched.
