Junts opens a file for the incident on TV3 to Dalmases

Junts will open an informative file on Francesc de Dalmases, deputy and vice-president of the formation, for the incident that occurred two weeks ago on TV3 with a journalist from the FAQS program, described as "intimidating" and "coercive". The decision was made yesterday at noon in Parliament at a meeting in which the party's general secretary, Jordi Turull, was present, and it came after Esquerra Republicana demanded from its partner that the deputy assume the necessary "political responsibilities" after that episode and other journalistic information that appeared in Nació Digital and ElDiario.es.

However, JxCat pointed out that the file will be opened at the next meeting of the management at the request of Dalmases himself, who will no longer be a spokesman in the parliamentary control commission for the Catalan Corporació de Mitjans Audiovisuals (CCMA). According to the statement, he made that request "to clarify and be able to refute and defend himself against the accusations that have appeared in recent days in the media and social networks, which are clearly harmful to his reputation."

Shortly before, ERC had asked for the assumption of responsibilities and had urged the Parliamentary Board to apply the institution's code of conduct to the Junts deputy and for the Deputies' Statute commission to prepare a report, as suggested by the common on Tuesday. PSC, the CUP and En Comú Podem have already expressed their rejection when the facts were revealed and the matter will be addressed next week in the CCMA control commission. The governing body of the public media commissioned a report to clarify what happened.

In JxCat there were sectors that were upset by the management of the incident and consulted sources point out that they have done wrong from the first moment, since instead of apologizing they denied the facts. The leader's apology was not convincing either, although Laura Borràs – the anger took place after an interview with the president – had defended him in a meeting.
