The spokesman and vice president of JxCat, Josep Rius, pointed out this Monday at a press conference that the convergent former mayor will have a "free hand" to configure his electoral list and his work team. "There will be more cases like these," said the Junts leader, who said that in several municipalities there has been an agreement with the local representatives of the PDECat, although it is also true that in others they will compete at the polls. Each municipality is unique and there will be different formulas.

Two hours before Rius spoke, the organization secretary of the PDECat, Genís Boadella, had revealed at a press conference that there are informal contacts with Junts to explore an electoral agreement in the Catalan capital, and has asked for "discretion and co-responsibility" so that there is entente Still, he has pointed out that the "logic" would be a coalition. "If it has to be negotiated, it will be done from party to party and with discretion. There have been some conversations between the two parties and with Xavier Trias. It must be articulated in such a way that both parties are satisfied", reasoned the also congressional deputy.

For his part, Trias has considered this Monday in statements to the Aquí Catalunya program of Cadena Ser that "it makes no sense for Junts to be separated from PDECat" in the next municipal elections and has expressed his willingness to head a joint list. "I want many people who are not from Junts to support my candidacy," said Trias, who also pointed out that he will speak with the former president of Barça Sandro Rosell to tell him not to run for municipal elections and that he rules out lawyer Jaume Alonso-Cuevillas for his list because he wanted to be the candidate. "People must understand that number one is me," Trias concluded.
