Junts claims to "rebel" against the "bad government" of Esquerra in the 28-M elections

Less than a week before the formal start of the electoral campaign for the municipal elections on May 28, Junts has entered the final stretch, surrounding its headliner, Xavier Trias, with more than 200 candidates from all over Catalonia. A display of muscle to send a message against the risk of abstention and against what they consider to be the "bad government" of the Republican Left in the Government of the Generalitat, with the episode of oppositions for Catalan administration officials still recent.

The formation held a great event in a municipal key in Poblenou, in which representatives of all the veguerías, the four candidates from the provincial capitals and the leaders of the party, its president, Laura Borràs, in charge of starting the parliaments; the former president of training, Carles Puigdemont; and the general secretary, Jordi Turull, who starred in the colophon.

In his last speech, Turull stressed that the elections on May 28 "are about values, attitudes and ways of understanding how politics is done." "If you don't have the best attitude, what happens happens, as we see more and more," lamented the leader of the post-convergent formation. "There are political forces that are institutionalizing and normalizing incompetence and sectarianism. Some, instead of solving problems, create them", continued the general secretary of JxCat, who has asked to rebel against "the institutionalization of incompetence and sectarianism". and "turn around" that situation in the next elections.

"Rebelling and criticizing the Government's management with the opposition is not electoralism or partisanship. It is loving the country and they have made us feel ashamed," Turull pointed out. "A country capable of organizing the best big events is incapable of organizing oppositions", he concluded.

In a similar line, the mayor of Igualada, Marc Castells, has pronounced himself, who has demanded that on May 29 Catalonia wake up tinged with the "green of good government against yellow bad government", alluding to the Republicans.

Puigdemont, in his telematic intervention, has asked that his party's basket of votes not be left empty in the elections on May 28. "Whatever happens, everything takes advantage of the Junts vote," he assured. "We have to teach that it is a basket that is still full," he stressed.

At the event, the accent was also placed on the sectoral policies that the party has been defending without a complex in recent months, especially since it held the congress last summer and since it left the Executive of Pere Aragonès in October.

In various interventions, training has claimed the creation of economic activity as a formula to guarantee social justice and economic progress. The candidate for mayor of Barcelona, Trias, that of Reus, Teresa Pallarès, or that of Tarragona, Jordi Sendra, who has advocated lowering taxes for young entrepreneurs, have spoken out in this regard.

"There are still political formations that are committed to degrowth, such as Ada Colau in Barcelona, which puts up obstacles to those who want to raise the blind every day, to those who want to undertake and to those who want economic progress," Pallarès complained. "The way to create opportunities and a better life for everyone is to create wealth and then distribute it. Make things easy and encourage economic activity and help SMEs and the self-employed."

Trias has made similar considerations regarding the economy and has claimed a strong party that supports the candidates. "The only way to have social justice and progress is to create sustainable economic activity," she pointed out. "That is not going against the sectors. We do not have to be against tourism. We have to explain what tourism we want, and what we do not want. And be able to explain it because if not, others will explain it. We do not want to be the city of prostitution and drugs. And that is leadership. And leadership is collaboration and generosity", stressed the former convergent mayor.
