JuntsxCat tries to buy time in the crisis that confronts it directly with the president of the Generalitat and for the moment it will avoid leaving the Government, as many of the members of the party's executive have defended during the marathon meeting they held to analyze the dismissal yesterday of vice-president Jordi Puigneró, according to sources consulted in La Vanguardia and later confirmed by the party's president, Laura Borràs, and its general secretary, Jordi Turull, at a press conference at the end of the meeting at the party's headquarters in Eixample Barcelona.

Junts has decided "unanimously", as Borràs and Turull have explained, to send a proposal to Aragonès on the points of the government agreement that they have been demanding for weeks and to submit their continuity in the Catalan Executive to the militancy on the 6th and 7th of october. According to what they have said, Puigneró will not be replaced until this consultation, which in fact was already planned since the July congress and since the executive at the end of August, is held.

Turull has detailed that they will send the president a proposal on "specifications, guarantees and deadlines" in relation to the three points of the agreement that are decisive for them, that is, the strategic direction of independence, that the dialogue table focus exclusively on amnesty and self-determination and parliamentary coordination in Madrid.

Junts hopes that in 72 hours, that is, until Sunday, Aragonès will give an answer to this proposal, with the idea of knowing the meaning of it next Monday, and in a new meeting of the executive decide the question that will be submitted to militancy next Thursday and Friday. Turull wanted to make it clear that what they are proposing is not an ultimatum and has assured that Junts will dedicate "the hours that are necessary" to try to reach an agreement and has asked that "the sense of transcendence ".

Puigneró was dismissed yesterday by Aragonès after the Junts parliamentary group demanded that the president submit to a matter of trust in Parliament if he does not comply with the legislature agreement that Esquerra and JxCat sealed in May 2021. It was during the intervention of Albert Batet, president of the group in the Chamber. Very few people in the leadership of the formation were aware that this proposal was going to be made and Puigneró was one of them, according to various sources. For this reason, the chief executive dismissed him, due to loss of confidence.

"We feel quite expelled from the Government," Turull warned this morning, in an interview on RAC1, in which he explained that Puigneró only knew that there was a possibility that the parliamentary group would ask the president to submit to a matter of confidence, but that Only he, the party president, Laura Borràs, and spokesman Albert Batet knew the final decision.

In the meeting of the executive, which began shortly after 10 in the morning and lasted until almost 8:00 p.m. with a break for lunch, the ministers also participated, except for Health, Josep Maria Argimon, who is independent, and that of Acció Exterior i Govern Obert, Victòria Alsina, who is on a trip to Geneva. Puigneró also planned to go to the Swiss city but after his dismissal he has not traveled.
