Junts and ERC try to bring positions closer together to reach a joint resolution on the amnesty

The Parlament de Junts per Catalunya group has offered Esquerra Republicana and the CUP a "minimum agreement" so that in the general policy debate, which concludes tomorrow, Friday, there will be a joint resolution proposal on amnesty and self-determination, two issues that the pro-independence groups are trying to introduce into the negotiations with the PSOE for the formation of the next central government, each one on its own. Negotiations are already underway in three parties.

At the moment, each group has its own proposed resolution, but in the group led by Albert Batet they consider that the Republicans' text implies free accession to the Government and placing trust in it without any rectification involved, while " The Catalan Executive is urged to carry out the appropriate actions to make the amnesty a reality. In the plenary session, Batet asked President Pere Aragonès from the lectern to rectify course or call elections to the Parliament. For this reason, at Junts he believes that he cannot support this text with the current wording. In turn, the current text of the post-convergents contains "nuances" that do not convince the Republicans and the desire of those of Oriol Junqueras is for there to be an agreement. There are hours ahead for it.

Thus, the post-convergents, who have offered other transactions to ERC on sectoral issues such as feminism or energy, among others, hope that there will be a minimum agreement between the three pro-independence groups in this general policy debate, or at least with the Republicans. . "We do not want to shoot ourselves in the foot regarding the amnesty and self-determination in the Parliament," they point out from Jordi Turull's formation.

The other political resolution of Junts has to do precisely with the Aragonès Executive and its situation of parliamentary weakness. The group refers to the "lack of trust" in the Government at the parliamentary level. The socialist group also influences this, but no transaction is planned between JxCat and PSC. This does not mean, however, that both groups give each other mutual support, in that resolution and in other sectoral issues referring to issues in which they have already shown harmony throughout the Catalan legislature, such as the case of infrastructures and big projects. The deadline to negotiate the registered texts and for there to be joint resolutions expires this afternoon at 5:00 p.m., so there is still time to negotiate a joint text, as indicated by sources from the various groups. Furthermore, the resolutions will be voted on point by point tomorrow, which may facilitate the agreement. It is not necessary to support a complete text.

In Madrid, both Junts and ERC are negotiating a possible amnesty with the PSOE, but for now there is no coordination between the two groups in the Lower House and the Republicans are trying to capitalize on their dialogue with the central government in the previous legislature and take that for granted. measure to try to take the initiative, although the socialists have denied them several times.

The post-convergents, for their part, maintain an attitude of "silence and prudence" regarding the negotiation with Pedro Sánchez and the only thing they claim is that in the last legislature the amnesty was not on the table and neither was the use of Catalan in Congress. of the Deputies – in Europe it had been considered, although the central Executive did not comply – or that the independence movement was withdrawn from the Europol terrorist groups. Thus, JxCat advocates maintaining this position of secrecy and exhibiting what has been achieved so far in comparison with its former partner.
