Junqueras asks Junts to support "Giró's budgets"

The president of the ERC, Oriol Junqueras, has called for the responsibility of Junts to support in the Parlament soon the budgets prepared by the former Minister of Economy, Jaume Giró, of this formation, who left the Government on Friday. But from Junts they assure that talking about budgets now is passing a screen that they are not willing to pass and they understand that President Aragonès must first submit to the confidence of the Parliament or call elections. This was reiterated this Monday by both the general secretary of Junts, Jordi Turull, and the president, Laura Borràs, in two interviews.

Junqueras has been on TV3, where he considered it "strange" that whoever did the accounts now voted against them. "If a few hours ago the good Junts agent considered these budgets good, I can't think of any reason why they consider that what was good is no longer good", reflected the Republican leader, who has ruled that "what was good a few hours ago it's still good."

Therefore, Junqueras has insisted that the ERC make a "call for the responsibility of everyone and obviously of those who have prepared the budgets" in reference to their former partners who, in his opinion, still "share a good part of the way we must go". In this sense, Junqueras has appealed to the losers of the consultation by recalling that 43% of the Junts militancy voted to stay and give continuity to these budgets.

Be that as it may, the president of Esquerra, who insists on rejecting the negotiation with the socialists, has recognized that if finally the other political forces force them to extend the accounts they will do so and that they will apply all the tools they have at hand to make the corrections that they think are necessary.

But for his former partners, facing this debate now is "starting the house from the roof" in the words of Jordi Turull or "passing the screen" in the words of Borràs, something they are not willing to do because they understand that Aragonès is president of the Generalitat for a agreement that, in his opinion, has not been fulfilled in the national axis, an extreme that Junqueras denies.

Turull has explained that the budgets prepared by Giró are not the budgets of Junts but a set of balances and sensitivities conditioned by the agreement of the Government and parliamentary arithmetic since they should be well seen by the common people, so that once outside the Government , Junts does not feel concerned by these accounts.

Thus, they consider that what Aragonès has to do in the first place is to revalidate the confidence of the Catalan Chamber, from which the legitimacy of the president of the Generalitat emanates for a matter of "democratic radicalism" and defense of "republican values", The general secretary of Junts has pointed out, who wanted to echo the words of Aragonès when he presented his new Executive yesterday and assured that he represents 80% of Catalans. "If he is so sure that he represents 80% that he submits to the confidence of Parliament", he has settled.

Borràs, on the other hand, is clear that Aragonès is the Government "of 21%" by going from having the support of 74 deputies to 33, for which he understands that the president should analyze how he came to the presidency and how he is now. "You cannot assume certain commitments to be president and when you already are, do the opposite", the suspended president of the Parliament has snapped, for which she has reiterated Junts' request that she submit to a matter of trust, avoiding answering whether whether or not they rule out a motion of censure.

And finally, Borràs has added that he does not intend to resign from his position as president of the Parlament until Aragonès resigns as president. "The day that Aragonès resigns Laura Borràs will resign", she has settled to once again hold ERC responsible for her suspension. "It was a partisan decision and they should be held accountable for it," she concluded.
