Judge Andreu was in favor of allowing 9N to be able to arrest Mas later

The judge of the National High Court, Fernando Andreu, assured at the 2014 meal that he shared with the former commissioner José Manuel Villarejo that he was in favor of allowing the 9-N consultation to be held in order to later arrest the then president of the Generalitat, Artur Mas.

Villarejo recorded the conversation and the audios have now been leaked on the digital El món. Andreu and Villarejo shared a table with the head of the Intelligence Center against Terrorism and Organized Crime (CITCO), José Luís Olivera, with the president of La Razón, Mauricio Casals, and with businessman Adrián de Joya. It is the same meal in which Villarejo confessed to Andreu that the controversy over the false account of Xavier Trias in Switzerland had been orchestrated by the so-called patriotic police.

On the date on which said meeting was held, the Constitutional Court had already suspended the consultation of 9-N, a maneuver that the diners, Villarejo and Andreu included, considered wrong, as can be deduced from their conversation. Andreu considers that it would have been better to disregard the query and then arrest Mas.

In the same conversation, Olivera underestimates the value of the query and even reveals that he had signed up to vote with the name, he says, of Santiago Bernabéu.

Mas has assured this Thursday in Parliament, in an appearance before the media, that he is considering taking legal action after the audios revealed by El Món, although he has warned that he will promote these actions from a "limited hope" that they prosper.

"When representatives of the judicial system itself are in the plot, the feeling you have is that they will try to cover everything up," he said. In any case, Mas has highlighted that he will seek to work "in the most coordinated way possible" with the former mayor of Barcelona Xavier Trias in these legal actions, and has indicated that they will assess him based on whether more audios are known, something that he believes it will happen

He has criticized the State "does not react or does so with great timidity" to this information, which he believes implies a certain 'omertá', and has regretted that the Prosecutor's Office has not acted by opening an investigation ex officio. He has assured that the situation has generated in him and in Trias a feeling of vulnerability and defenselessness: "That a police officer persecutes you illegally is serious, but that the referee, who is the one who represents the judicial system, puts on the shirt of one of the teams, and in addition to the team that plays dirty, is not admissible in a rule of law".

"The serious thing is to see that someone who represents the judicial system is in the illegal and fraudulent conspiracy of people who, from the heart of the State, tried to destroy projects and people for their ideas," added Mas about the AN judge.

He has referred to "state powers that what they did was try to destroy certain people and elected officials or weaken them to try to put an end to their political projects", and has described the situation as unfortunate, sad and disappointing.
