Juanma Moreno urges Catalan businessmen to settle in Andalusia

The president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, has made a direct appeal to Catalan businessmen to locate their headquarters in Andalusia after the tax reduction approved by the regional government on Tuesday, in which, among other aspects, the Wealth tax.

"Here is your land," Moreno told the Catalan businessmen, to whom he reminded: "In Catalonia there is an inheritance tax, not here; in Catalonia there is an inheritance tax, not here; and besides, here we are not going to become independent never, because we are a proud part of Spain", he pointed out in statements made at the forum "Next Spain: the Spain we want" collected by the Efe agency.

Moreno considers that there are "plenty of arguments" for "many businessmen, capitals, families" to move their residence to Andalusia.

He has ensured that only by obtaining 7,200 new taxpayers will the revenue loss be compensated, with the personal income tax fee without adding other taxes.

The tax reduction, which will become effective tomorrow when it is published in the Official Gazette of the Andalusian Government (BOJA), also includes the deflation of the regional IRPF quota by 4.3 percent, and will mean a saving of 360 million , which added to the previous 540 will mean 900 million.

In addition, the water canon is abolished next year, which means 140 million.

Moreno has defended that the abolition of the Wealth Tax will have a positive effect on employment, since there are thousands of associated jobs for large taxpayers "who will no longer be tempted to flee as happened in 2020, they all fled to Madrid."

The objective is to compete with the Community of Madrid "at the same level" and for this the President of the Board highlights the Andalusian qualities, with a thousand kilometers of coastline, Atlantic and Mediterranean façade and an extensive historical and natural heritage, among others.
