Josep Rull will chair the national council of Junts

Former minister Josep Rull will chair the national council of Junts per Catalunya, the highest decision-making body for training between congresses, and will replace the vice-president of training Anna Erra, who is also mayor of Vic until next year and Parliamentary deputy.

Rull has been the only candidate and must be endorsed by the militancy, something that will be a mere formality. After his entry into prison and the founding of JxCat as a party when the divorce with the PDECat was consummated two years ago, the pro-independence leader, who was in prison at the time, had been left in the background, as was the former Minister Joaquim Forn. Only Jordi Sànchez and Jordi Turull were part of the Junts management and they continued to be closely linked to the day-to-day running of the game. In this way, Rull returns to the front line.

To occupy the internal position of defender of the affiliate two members have appeared, Marcel Padrós, who leaves the current executive and had been in the direction of the Catalan National Assembly with Sànchez, and Jordi Monrós Ibáñez, who was leader of Convergència in l 'Hospitalet de Llobregat.

In this process, 20 members of the national council proposed by the leadership are also renewed and the guarantee commission is elected, which may play a key role in the coming months, according to the draft of the party's statutes, in the case of Borràs , since it is up to that body to decide whether to treat the case as lawfare and repression or not at the time of sanctioning.

Both the defender of the affiliate and that commission, in addition, have on the table the folder with the complaints of sexual harassment by a former local CDC leader in Tarragona, Quim Amorós, against members of the party's youth. Amorós is now a member of Junts and last weekend and Monday there were several complaints on the networks directed against him.

For the guarantee commission, among others, the deputy of the Catalan Chamber Quim Jubert, who is a lawyer, and Josep Pagès, deputy of Congress and current defender of the affiliate, appear. Both have legal training, one of the requirements for at least two members of that internal body that is made up of between four and six people.

On the other hand, the congress table, which started on June 4 in Argelers and will conclude on July 16 and 17 in La Farga de l'Hospitalet de Llobregat, has extended the deadline for negotiating amendments between those who present them and the architects of the papers. The term expired this week and has been given until Tuesday of next week.
