Josep Maria Pou is the winner of this year's Atlàntida award from the Editors' Guild of Catalonia. The actor and theater director will receive the award on November 21 during the 37th Night of the Edition at the Romea theater in Barcelona, ​​of which he is the artistic director.

The prize instituted since 1986 is awarded for its contribution to the promotion of reading, intellectual property and for the promotion and defense of cultural values. Figures such as Václav Havel, Jacques Santer, Viviane Reding, Javier Solana, Jordi Savall, Joan Manuel Serrat, Jaume Plensa, Isabel Coixet, Jordi Herralde, Lluís Pascual, Carme Riera or the three oldest bookshops in Catalonia have received it before. and in the previous edition it went to the Tricicle theater company.

Josep Maria Pou will be recognized for his more than 50 years of professional career, which began at the Teatro Español in Madrid in October 1968. Since then, he has premiered around sixty theatrical shows in which the great titles are combined with the names of the best national and international authors and directors. He developed this activity in parallel in cinema and television throughout some two hundred projects, and combined it at the same time with the translation and adaptation of plays in English.

During the Nit de l'Edició, in addition, the Gremi d'Editors will award the 28th Fernando Lara Memorial to the children's and youth book publisher Flamboyant and special recognition will be given to the Salvatella publisher for its centenary, to the Reverté publishers and Base for its 75 years, to the Liturgical Pastoral Center for its 50th anniversary and to Ediciones Cáñamo, which celebrates 35 years. Likewise, Pablo Martín Sánchez will be awarded the Ángel Crespo Translation Prize for the translation from French to Spanish of the work La anomaly d'Hervé Le Tellier.

In this new edition, the Gremi d'Editors de Catalunya will once again value the diversity and resilience of a sector with 500 years of Catalan history, in a context that brings together all the people linked to the world of letters.
