Josep Lluís Cadena, director of Ràdio Lleida, dies at the age of 59

The director of Ràdio Lleida-Ser Catalunya, Josep Lluís Cadena, died this Monday at the age of 59, as reported by the station itself.

Cadena started working at Ser in 1994 as head of promotion and marketing, he was president of the Col legi de Periodistes de Lleida and also a radio professor at the University of Lleida.

"The colleagues of Ser Lleida regret the loss of an optimistic person, a fighter and a staunch defender of the radio," they said in a tweet on the station's profile.

Social networks have echoed farewell messages to the journalist.

"We will miss him very much, his serenity, his capacity for analysis, and his friendship. May the earth be light to you, dear friend," writes the mayor of Lleida, Fèlix Larrosa on his Twitter account.

"A big hug of condolences and support to the family, who can be very proud of the commitment that Josep Lluís Cadena has always shown with his profession and the Lands of Lleida. His colleagues are today in deep mourning because he represented the best of journalism," writes the president of the Provincial Council, Joan Talarn.

How sad... I extend my condolences and a big hug to colleagues, friends and family, has published the delegate of the Generalitat in Lleida, Montse Bergés.
