José Manuel Soto loses two gigs in PP town halls after insulting Pedro Sánchez

The municipalities of Bormujos (Seville) and Villacarrillo (Jaén), both governed by the PP, have decided to suspend the concerts that José Manuel Soto was going to offer at his municipal festivities as a result of the singer's statements on social networks against the President of the Government , Pedro Sánchez, and his voters.

In the case of the Sevillian town, the concert was scheduled for next Thursday, August 24, and in that of Jaen, for September 9.

The reason for these suspensions is a tweet published by Soto last Saturday, which has since been deleted, in which one could read: "I am going to take advantage of this moment of summer calm by the sea to make use of my freedom of expression and shit on @sanchezcastejon, in his fucking mother and in the millions of children of the big tip who agree that Spain is in the hands of its worst enemies, fuck you".

In a statement, released this Sunday, the mayoress of Bormujos, Lola Romero, has rejected the statements made by José Mauel Soto, since "they do not represent the official position of this City Council nor do they reflect the opinions or ways of acting of the new Government of Bormujos ".

Romero has indicated that "the local government works for all citizens and there is no room for insults or disrespect" and has stated that the "promotion of coexistence, diversity and inclusion are fundamental axes of our government action" .

Lola Romero recalled that her objective is "to work to solve problems and not generate them" and has announced that the city council is already working on other musical options to replace Soto.

The Villacarrillo town hall has also decided to suspend the singer's concert as a result of Soto's statements, which are part of his "personal responsibility and do not represent the official position of the town hall nor do they reflect the opinions of the local government."

"As an institution, we strive to promote peaceful coexistence and mutual respect among all citizens, regardless of their political, religious or any other differences. We value diversity and inclusion as fundamental pillars of our community", has defended the Jaén town hall, which has reiterated its commitment to "work for the benefit of all citizens, maintaining an environment of harmony and respect".

The singer José Manuel Soto this very morning has published another tweet in which he apologizes to all those who may have been offended by his words.

"Calling someone a son of a bitch is a very Spanish popular expression that is in Don Quixote and in all the classics, there is no need to be so offended. They call me a fascist, Nazi and worse things every day and I take it with sportsmanship. Said I apologize to those offended," the singer responded on his social networks.
