The plenary session of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce unanimously re-elected José Luis Bonet (81 years old) this morning as president of the institution for the next four years, which is his third consecutive term.

The plenary session of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce unanimously re-elected José Luis Bonet (81 years old) this morning as president of the institution for the next four years, which is his third consecutive term. In his acceptance speech, Bonet defended the key role of companies in the economy and in society as guarantors of the joint well-being of citizens and "solutions to the challenges we face".

Looking ahead to the next four years, the re-elected president has set the strategic lines of action such as digitization, internationalization, entrepreneurship, institutional defense and consolidation of the chamber system, to contribute "to the transformation of Spain's economic model and achieve more solid growth , sustainable and inclusive”

He has also highlighted that they have received orders from the different administrations to manage the Next Generation funds, which, he affirms, means recognizing the work of the Chamber of Commerce in favor of companies. He refers to his participation as a collaborating entity of Red.es in the management of the Digital Kit program, in addition to the agreement with the Secretary of State for Trade to execute the International Mentoring program, to strengthen the position of exporting SMEs.

In the new executive committee, the Madrid Chamber of Commerce assumes the second vice-presidency and the Valencia Chamber of Commerce, the third; while Banco Santander continues to occupy the first vice-presidency. In addition, the Chambers of Commerce of A Coruña, Alicante, Bilbao, Ciudad Real and Valladolid are incorporated. As regards the plenary session, the Gipuzkoa Chamber of Commerce, Cellnex and Mondragón are incorporated as members.
