Jorge Vilda offers himself to Real Madrid

The former Spanish coach Jorge Vilda continues his tour of Spanish radio stations to offer his version of his dismissal, where he continues to maintain that he believes his dismissal has been unfair and promises to fight for the five-year contract he had agreed with Rubiales in exchange for a succulent financial figure at a rate of half a million euros per year.

Last night it was Radio Marca's turn, where the Madrid coach began to talk about his future, openly letting himself be loved by Real Madrid. “Do you see yourself coaching Madrid?” the journalist asked, to which Vilda responded: “I would love to coach the best teams and Madrid is one of the best.”

“They are doing well, there is a good core of national players, with a great dressing room and it is reflected in the international players that the team has. There are also players who went through the lower categories and who triumphed in the World Cup”, Vilda analyzed the Madrid team.

Jorge Vilda maintains a close relationship with Ana Rossell, sports director of Real Madrid, whom he has known for years. They met for the first time at Canillas, the Madrid coach's only experience on the bench before joining the Federation, where Rossell was a player. Later, he would found Tacón, which would end up becoming Real Madrid, where he now leads the sports management. Rossell does not have a good relationship with the team's current coach, Alberto Toril, whose contract expires on June 30, 2024.

Asked if he had any offers on the table, he assured that he did, but that he would study them with his family in mind: “The intention is to lead a national team or a team that can aspire to win championships and I can continue doing so.” And he acknowledged that he misses the activity in a club: “Training in a club is what I did in the past and thanks to that I am where I am. When I was with the national team I missed the day-to-day training at a club.”

In the interview he also refers to Rubiales' announcement to extend his contract for four more years - in addition to the one he still had until 2024 -, something that Vilda considers "a way to reward" his work at the head of the senior team and "what is normal when “You win a World Cup.” “Everything was already talked about before. I'm four years old plus one before. I felt like a coach until 2028” and she warns: “I have my rights and I have to defend them above all.”

Regarding Jenni Hermoso, he only said that “she has the right to defend herself” and stated that she believes “in Spanish Justice.”
