Jordi Cruz's famous reaction in 'MasterChef': "It is the first time that an applicant calls me a liar to my face"

The tension in the latest installment of MasterChef 11 made it clear that the applicants are under a lot of pressure and that, sometimes, they are not even able to differentiate what is a joke from what is not. This is precisely what happened between Jorge Juan and Jordi Cruz when the jury stung him about the subject of the applicant's future business.

The contestant's response not only upset the veteran chef, but also caused him monumental anger. In fact, Jordi Cruz acknowledged that in the eleven years that he has been working as a culinary talent at TVE, it was the first time that an applicant called him a "liar to his face", and he was not going to allow it any more.

The tension between Jorge Juan and Jordi Cruz began during Miguel Bosé's visit to the first MasterChef 11 test. During the preparation of the vegetables, the judge approached the applicant and made a joke about how he encouraged his teammates in the tests of exteriors. The chef claimed that he bought bottles of wine for "night parties."

A comment that did not sit well with the contestant, but about which he did not want to say more and let it go. However, that resentment was blown up when in the middle of the elimination Jordi Cruz returned to play another joke to try to lift his spirits: he claimed to be "screwed" by the departure of Camino or Ana.

"What is the project that you have out of here when you leave?" the judge asked him. "Set up a bar, tapas... we'll see...", replied the applicant. "A tapas bar, that in the end there are drinks," Cruz stung, alluding to the issue of wine bottles.

"Well, the drinks make a lot of money and coffee too," replied Jorge Juan, somewhat annoyed. The judge also wanted to know what he was most interested in in a hospitality business: tapas or drinks. And here, the contestant lost his patience and said: "You've been lying since yesterday with the bottles of wine on the plane. I'm already burned and irritated with that, but oh well. I am already tired of so much nonsense, the drink is already loading me ”.

To which Jordi Cruz, from the most serious, replied from the most forceful: “First you just called me a liar. Until now I thought we had a sense of humor, you and me. I made a joke and you didn't get it, it's the first time in 11 years that an applicant calls me a liar to my face."

Then, the chef made it clear to him what the limits between them would be from that moment on: "From the outset, you and I have finished the jokes, I'm not going to do you any more." At the judge's words, Jorge Juan apologized and assumed his outburst.

However, once in front of the cameras, the applicant acknowledged: "You no longer know if they are jokes or not, and we all run parties." Shortly after, Jordi Cruz decided to go up to the gallery, approach Jorge Juan, who was somewhat crestfallen after his strong clash, and make peace.

"If you want to open a bar, take it seriously, because the way you told me it didn't seem like it to me," Cruz advised him while the contestant apologized again for calling him a "liar."
