João Félix... who said bluff?

There are groups of friends who still argue about whether the Uruguayan Luis Suárez was a great scorer or simply the one who culminated Messi's gifts. The ability to argue about football is infinite, unlike controversies about GDP.

Hence the prestige granted to themselves – never recognized by the dissidents – who defended a signing when the non-silent majority rejected it.

I was not convinced by the arrival of João Félix either...

Naturally, those who defended the Portuguese player are sleeping in glory this week and, if they continue like this, they will soon say what seemed buried in the tribe's language. It has Barça DNA!

As is also natural, those who were most vocal against the signing appeal – a populist tactic par excellence – to the specific weakness of Real Betis and the lack of cachet of Antwerp, a team tailor-made for the next Joan Gamper tournament, such that that Bruges Circle hired half a century ago to present Cruyff. Who knows where those girlfriends and that Círculo de Brujas club are going...

It is worth enjoying the details of João Félix, who seems to have played for FC Barcelona since he was a child. One of the best presentations in society of the 21st century. Amazing. So much talent can be temporary, especially now that any party-pooper fan looks like a student on the national coaching course and speaks easily of low pressures – not to be confused with low passions –, non-democratic transitions and blocks unrelated to the Cold War. That's where the sticks will come to him. They don't want a fan who solemnly swore that he was a bluff to accept reality without kicking his ass!

Beyond the prominence of João Félix – for the moment, one of those who fill the stage and project authority –, these social democratic victories, of so many widely distributed, reinforce what is not written, the possibilities of going further. Supposed secondary players like Raphinha and Ferran Torres have scored, while Ter Stegen has gone two games without conceding a goal, a fact that he creates for a poorly defined defensive line. Do we win big again or do we adjust the defense, key to the 2022-2023 League?

At the moment, Montjuïc is showing itself as a hospital stadium, without the bad vibes it aroused, which contributes to a cheerful culé state of mind, just a few days after being in the sentimental ICU. Of all the roller coasters, none like football. And if they don't like one opinion, we all have another. Another goal from João Félix and we will say in chorus: “I already said that this kid was very good!”
