Jesús Navas leaves Sevilla at the end of the season

Jesús Navas will leave Sevilla at the end of the season, as the club has announced on its social networks. The 38-year-old player, whose contract ends on June 30, already gave signs that he was going to abandon the Seville discipline, after retiring in tears during last night's match against Cádiz at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, a match in which he reached the 500 games in LaLiga as a Sevilla player.

Although Sevilla wanted to sit down to negotiate to extend the contractual relationship, the captain of the Andalusian team has made the decision to undertake a new challenge.

In the red and white team, Navas has become a legend, since he is the player with the most appearances for the Sevilla team (688) and the player with the most titles (8), divided into four Europa Leagues, one European Super Cup, two Copa del Rey and one Spanish Super Cup.

Navas, who recently reached 600 starts as a red and white player, has scored a total of 39 goals and 119 assists in his 17 seasons at the helm of the Nervión club, with which he debuted 21 years ago, in November 2003, against Espanyol.

The Andalusian full-back, the only European player to win the World Cup, Euro Cup and Nations League, and the oldest player to wear the Red shirt, has a strong chance of being on Luis de la Fuente's list for the next Euro Cup. The palace man is a fixture for the coach and aims to compete for the right back position with Dani Carvajal.

The Sevilla fans' tribute to the Andalusian footballer will take place on Sunday, May 26 at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, at 8 p.m. A day before, Sevilla faces FC Barcelona at home, in which it will be Jesús Navas' last game in the red and white shirt.
