The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested a 24-year-old young man at dawn on Saturday who had allegedly raped and attacked a 21-year-old girl a few hours earlier on a road in the area of Grenyana, in Horta de Lleida.
According to 'Segre' and ACN has confirmed from police sources, the attack would have taken place inside a van. The arrested person took the victim's cell phone so that he could not call the Mossos.
The warning was given by several people who early in the morning were walking around a hermitage in the area and saw how a girl got out of a van very quickly and left the site. She had injuries and explained to these people what happened.
Once the police were notified, the Mossos began a search in the area. Around noon, an ARRO patrol that was participating in the device located the suspect and arrested him as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of sexual assault and robbery with force as well as another crime of illegal detention.
He was later taken to the police station and the girl was evacuated to a hospital for treatment.
The young man was brought before the court on Monday and the judge decreed provisional arrest without bail, as well as a prohibition on approaching within 300 meters of the victim.
