Iturgaiz sees an affront that Sánchez does not break up with Bildu before the tribute to Blanco

The president of the Basque PP, Carlos Iturgaiz, stated this Tuesday that "it would be an affront" for the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, to attend the tribute to Miguel Ángel Blanco and "not take advantage of that golden opportunity" to break with EH Bildu " in front of all of Spain".

"His presence at that act would not be understandable while he agrees with the ETA partners who justify his murder", he maintained in an interview on Radio Euskadi in reference to the tribute organized by the City Council of Ermua (Bizkaia) on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the kidnapping and assassination of the PP councilor by ETA.

After recalling that Sánchez has agreed with EH Bildu the law of historical memory "in an irrational behavior that makes victims of the executioners", Iturgaiz has assured that he would be "surprised" if the President of the Government "does not take advantage of that opportunity" .

Asked if he would like EH Bildu to be present at the tribute, the leader of the Basque PP has maintained that "it is not a matter of taste, but that in recent motions in different city councils they have refused to condemn this murder, and also threats and aggressions that still occur today".

"How are they going to be in Ermua? I don't even think about it. Bildu is directed by the heads of ETA", he remarked and added that "never, ever, has anyone from the nationalist left approached to talk about Miguel Ángel Blanco. .. nor do I expect it."

He has also opined that Blanco's sister, Marimar, current parliamentarian of the PP in the Madrid Assembly, should have an intervention in the tribute next Sunday, the 10th, which will be attended by Felipe VI and Sánchez, among other authorities, and has maintained that "it would not be understandable" otherwise. "I ask, I demand and I pray that Miguel Ángel Blanco's sister can speak because it is natural. The other has neither feet nor head," she has said.
