Italian police are looking for an individual who jumped from a third floor into the canals of Venice

A video that has gone viral on international social networks, showing an individual jumping from a three-story building into one of Venice's canals, has angered the city's mayor, Luigi Brugnaro, who has given order to locate the jumper to penalize him.

The events happened last Friday, when the residents and tourists who were in the Venice Palace were alarmed by the presence of a man on the roof of a nearby building, fearing the worst and started recording. Shortly after, the man jumped into the San Pantalon canal, behind Campo Santa Margherita.

The images show how the man jumps and dives into the canal, to get out after a while helped by a collaborator who is waiting for him with a towel. The witnesses, who had alerted the police, were relieved, as can be heard on the recordings.

The comment of the mayor of Venice, Luigi Brugnaro, on social networks also shows his outrage. "This action should get a certificate of stupidity" as well as a "nice bag of kicks." The first Venetian mayor adds that "we are trying to identify him, him and his friend" and took the opportunity to claim "more real powers to the mayors against vandalism"
