International Graduate School: master's degrees with employment guarantee

At the International Postgraduate School they proposed something unthinkable a few years ago: to offer a job guarantee in their master's degrees. Students have to meet a series of requirements, such as successfully completing their studies, and the School opens the doors to the labor market for them in leading companies, such as Deloitte, Accenture, Minsait and a long etcetera.

The market for master's degrees has grown considerably in recent years. According to the Ministry of Universities, in 2006, 16,609 students enrolled, a figure that doubled the following year and today is close to 250,000 enrolled. However, not all those who have completed a master's degree find a job easily, since the labor market is stressed by several points, such as the uncertainty of a possible economic crisis when it has barely recovered from the previous one and the lack of truly specialized profiles with technological knowledge.

"In our master's degrees, one hundred percent of the faculty is made up of managers from large companies," says Manuel García Moreno, general director of the International Postgraduate School (EIP). “It is essential that students receive the knowledge of that expert who is working day by day in their company and knows what tools are available on the market, what problems they have to solve and what technologies are available to get the work ahead. After a year, about 2,000 students study at EIP, whose degree of satisfaction is very high, 4.9 out of 5”, he explains.

Companies have trouble finding talent. Despite the three million unemployed in Spain, there are more than 100,000 unfilled vacancies, according to the Spanish Confederation of Small and Medium Enterprises (Cepyme). This lack of qualified workers supposes a decrease in the productivity of companies.

“One of our priorities at the International Postgraduate School is to update our master's degrees and training programs in each call so that the content is always adapted to the needs of companies, which is why we are able to offer the employment guarantee associated with our programs. In addition, the training we offer is very practical and tailor-made for the student, so that they can successfully complete the master's degree whatever their personal and professional situation may be”, assures the general director of EIP.

The employment guarantee associated with the International Postgraduate School's master's degrees leads to great student satisfaction. “Our job is to provide the best service to our students. All the EIP teams are working daily so that the master's degrees meet the highest quality standards, to reach new agreements with different companies, to advise students on employability matters; In short, we are a school clearly focused on improving lives through employment”, concludes García Moreno.

How can EIP guarantee employment for its students? To begin with, everyone who leaves their virtual classrooms arrives at the company with a series of fundamental and necessary skills for any organization: a high level of English, appropriate for today's globalized world; excellent skills to handle different software and technological tools and a great capacity for teamwork. To all this we must add a high personal brand, an aspect that they work on at the School from the first minute.

A clear example of how going through EIP can turn your life around is the case of Juan Camilo Cifuentes, a former student of the International Postgraduate School and, specifically, of the Master's Degree in Cybersecurity Management, Ethical Hacking and Offensive Security, one one of the most demanded by students and companies alike.

Cifuentes says that he finished his degree and did not find a job of his own. “I was working as a stocker and I was discouraged because I wanted to do something else. I studied the master's degree and after three or four months I already had my contract and the truth is that I am very happy (...) My employment situation today is unbeatable, at 23 years old I couldn't be better”. His luck has changed, for the better. Cifuentes is part of the Deloitte cybersecurity team, one of the most relevant companies in the business sector at an international level.
