Instagram Stories on demand: we can create new lists of users to have greater control

Instagram wants to continue making the most of its successful stories, a tool that users use to express themselves and share everyday moments. To have greater control and ensure the privacy of users, in 2018 the option arose to create a list of best friends, with whom to share that content without the need for the entire community to find out where we were or what we were doing.

Along those lines, the platform has announced that it is testing an option that will allow account owners to share stories with different lists of followers, in addition to 'best friends'. New ones can be created with different names. Smaller or reduced groups that allow greater control over who can see the user's stories, the technology company argues.

That was the latest announcement from the head of this social network, Adam Mosseri, through a publication on his Instagram news channel. "We've started testing the ability to share your stories with multiple audience lists. This allows you to share stories with smaller groups and gives you more control," he notes in a short message.

In this sense, as Mosseri explains, users will be able to create lists with their family or traveling friends, as well as with users with whom they share tastes such as cooking or sports.

To configure these new groups, a 'Lists' menu has been introduced in which you can create a new list and add the users who will be part of it. Those that the user wants, according to affinity or interests.

It will be a very simple and intuitive functionality. When sharing the story, a menu will open with all the lists, including the 'best friends' list, and you can choose where to publish it.
