In search of the legendary water of Savassona

Incredible, enigmatic and full of legends. This is the Font de la Baronessa de Savassona, in the Osona region. And, as can be seen in the Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia, in these days of November, still dry, this source continues to give us its legendary water.

The fountain is sheltered under the cave, which is accessed by stone stairs. The stream of water flows from a tap and falls into a natural hailstone, as seen in these video images.

The fountain is located in the Baronessa cave, near the Savassona castle. It is reached by the path that leaves Roc del Llum or by the path behind the castle.

In front of the fountain, at a lower level, there is a stone table and benches. Next to the table there is a large wall of worked stones, of regular size, tied with lime mortar, where the mouth of a water mine opens, with a catenary arch, with worked stone voussoirs.

The Font de la Baronessa de Savassona is a popular place for hikers that stands out for its natural beauty. The stone walls of the cave are imposing.
