How to get up to 300 euros by direct debiting your payroll

Being a new client has its advantages and, above all, if you have a payroll. If there is something that banks love, it is a client willing to deposit their salary every month. "For this reason, it is not surprising that the great Spanish banks have brought out all their heavy artillery to win over new customers," acknowledge the experts at the financial product comparator HelpMyCash.com, who assure that there are banks that offer up to 300 euros as a gift .

“In this context of rising interest rates, we can finally see the intention of some banks to favor liabilities. Let us remember that for many years the accounts did not offer returns to their clients, so it is good news for savers”, they recognize from the comparator.

It is time to take advantage. Gone is the idea of keeping an account just because you're lazy to make the switch. At times like these, in which inflation remains at 9%, no one is averse to extra money and, above all, if to obtain it you only need to pay by direct debit. With Bankinter, for example, you can get up to 340 euros gross in two years. “Of course, it is not a direct gift, but interest that the bank will pay for the money that is in the account,” the experts indicate.

The Bankinter payroll account remunerates the first 5,000 euros at 5% APR, during the first year and at 2% APR the second. The requirements of the entity are these: direct debit a payroll of more than 800 euros and three receipts per quarter, as well as make at least three purchases with the credit card.

Banco Sabadell has also decided to continue maintaining its flagship product, the Online Account, which remunerates a base 1% APR up to a maximum of 30,000 euros for one year —you can get up to 300 euros gross in one year—. "The best thing about this account is that it is not necessary to domicile a payroll to achieve profitability," they point out from HelpMyCash.

Abanca is another entity that offers more money. In his case, 300 euros net if a Clara Account is opened without commissions and a payroll of at least 1,200 euros is directly deposited, although the Galician bank requires a stay of two years. “It is the bank that gives away the most money directly. Even for those who earn less than 1,200 euros, but more than 799 euros. In this case, the entity gives away 150 euros”, they add from the comparator.

And in this battle for payroll BBVA and Santander are not far behind. The blue bank has launched a promotion for new customers who sign up for the Va Contigo Account and direct deposit a salary or pension equal to or greater than 800 euros for at least one year. People who meet these requirements will receive a bonus of 150 euros gross. The promotion will be available until October 31 and includes a free debit and credit card.

In the case of the bank chaired by Ana Botín, the Online Account without commissions gives away 150 euros gross to customers who direct a new payroll, pension or recurring income of at least 600 euros per month and complete a one-year stay. Only consumers who have not had their income domiciled in the bank in the previous four months will be eligible for the campaign.

Although since the rise in rates there has been much talk of the “fixed term war”, the truth is that there are still no large Spanish banks fighting to attract customers in this type of product. However, there are options outside the national territory, which, although they are not a panacea nor do they stop inflation, at least help to contain a little the loss of purchasing power. In this sense and according to a ranking prepared by HelpMyCash, the best offer is found in Italy.

"Banca Progetto has increased its deposits in the last week: at one year it offers 2.30% APR and at two years, 2.70%", they indicate from the comparator.
