How to avoid the commission of up to 60 euros that the bank charges you in October

Several banks plan to charge maintenance fees to some of their clients this October. The less fortunate can pay up to 60 euros, warn experts from the financial product comparator HelpMyCash.com, who have investigated which banks will charge this month and which are the best accounts without commissions to pay nothing.

CaixaBank customers should sign up in red on their calendar on October 31. It is the day that the bank plans to collect the Day-to-Day fee from customers who do not meet the conditions of the program. Some will have to pay 15 euros and others, the least linked, 60 euros. Taking into account that the entity charges the fee every three months, at the end of the year the cost of the account can rise to 240 euros.

And how can it be avoided? In reality, stop paying maintenance fees at CaixaBank is much easier than at other banks, they point out from HelpMyCash. To start, you have to direct deposit a salary of at least 600 euros, a pension of 300 euros or more or have more than 20,000 euros in investment products. If this requirement is met, the commission drops from 60 to 15 euros per quarter. And if the customer also has three direct debits or makes three card purchases each quarter, the cost is reduced to zero.

Banco Santander will also settle accounts with some of its clients in October as it does every month. The date will depend on when each client opened their account. And how much will he charge? In this case, customers who have a ONE Account and do not meet the bank's conditions will pay up to 20 euros (up to 240 euros at the end of the year).

One way to avoid commissions is to direct deposit a salary of at least 600 euros or a pension of 300 and, in addition, have three direct debit receipts or use the card a minimum of six times per quarter. If the two previous requirements are met, the maintenance of the account will be free.

The third in contention is ING. The entity charges a commission of three euros each month to the holders of the Payroll Account who do not have their income domiciled (36 euros per year).

In order not to pay it, each month you must receive a payroll, pension or unemployment of any amount or a transfer from another bank of at least 700 euros. For customers who cannot or do not want to meet these requirements, the bank recently launched a new checking account without fees or conditions, the NoCuenta Account. It has fewer advantages than its older sister, but it does not require anything or has maintenance costs and includes a totally free virtual debit card.

For some consumers, having a bank account has become a small luxury and for some it can mean an expense of up to 240 euros a year. Therefore, many consumers wonder how to stop paying for this service.

The easiest way is to look for an account without commissions that has affordable requirements or, directly, that does not have linking conditions, they explain from HelpMyCash. There are more and more accounts that are free even if a payroll is not directly deposited.

The Banco Sabadell Online Account, the BBVA Online Account, the Abanca Clara Account or the Santander Online Account are some alternatives to stop paying commissions. Why? Firstly, because they do not have maintenance fees, secondly, because they are free even if the cardholder does not directly direct their salary, thirdly, because they allow SEPA transfers to be made at no cost and, fourthly, because they include a debit card with no issuance or maintenance fees. Of course, they are all digital and are only available to new customers.

Some of the best accounts without commissions or conditions have very attractive advantages. For example, the Sabadell Online Account has a return of 1% APR for a whole year on the first 30,000 euros, so its holders can earn up to 300 euros in interest. Of course, to enjoy this profitability you have to open the account before October 31.

The Santander Online Account is not profitable, but it gives away 150 euros gross to customers who contract it and direct deposit their payroll, pension or recurring income of at least 600 euros before December 2 and complete a one-year stay.

Abanca goes further and gives a net gift of 300 euros to new customers who sign up for the Clara Account and direct a salary or pension of at least 1,200 euros and maintain it for two years.

The truth is that neither the Santander account nor the Abanca account require direct debiting a payroll or complying with any permanence. Only customers who want to receive the gift will have to meet these additional conditions, clarify from HelpMyCash.
